England midfielder Declan Rice has recovered from a sickness bug and trained with his teammates on Monday, making him available for Wednesday's World Cup semi-final against Argentina.

There had been concern over the vice-captain's fitness following England's 2-1 victory over Norway on Saturday. Rice was substituted at halftime during that match after experiencing illness, which had kept him in bed for three days. The hot and humid conditions in Miami were noted as a factor in his performance during the first half.

In addition to the sickness, Rice has also been managing discomfort from hamstring and back pain. Despite these issues, he is confident in his ability to start against the reigning world champions in Atlanta.

Elsewhere on the team, Ezri Konsa experienced cramp and hamstring pain during the match against Norway. Staff believe this was a result of the team traveling from the high altitude of Mexico City to the extreme temperatures in Florida. This situation presents a selection decision for manager Tuchel regarding the right-back position, with Konsa, Reece James, and Djed Spence all in contention.
