DeAndre Hopkins has clarified that he has not retired from the NFL, despite accepting a position as an assistant wide receivers coach at Georgia Tech. The veteran wideout took to social media to address potential confusion, stating his intention to continue playing while embracing his new coaching role.

"I Haven’t retired from the @NFL … But if you’re a WR and you want to be great, come to @GeorgiaTechFB," Hopkins posted on X.

Hopkins, a five-time Pro Bowl and five-time first-team All-Pro selection, spent time with the New England Patriots during recent practices, assisting with wide receivers. He officially accepted the coaching position with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Friday. The move marks his first foray into coaching.

Last season, Hopkins played for the Baltimore Ravens, where he recorded 22 receptions for 330 yards and two touchdowns. He expressed a sentiment that the Ravens did not utilize him sufficiently, and he is reportedly seeking an NFL contract for the 2026 season.

The assistant coaching role at Georgia Tech reunites Hopkins with offensive coordinator George Godsey. The two previously worked together for three seasons with the Houston Texans, where Godsey served as quarterback coach and later offensive coordinator during Hopkins' tenure there.
