Cristiano Ronaldo Returns to Al-Nassr Training After Portugal Camp Exit
Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has rejoined his Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr for training following his departure from the Portugal national team camp during the international break due to a dispute with head coach Jorge Jesus.

Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to training with his Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr after leaving the Portugal squad during the international break amid reports of a rift with head coach Jorge Jesus.
Al-Nassr welcomed the star back to training, sharing a social media post that read, 'The GOAT in the heart of Najd, at Al Nassr.' Ronaldo's focus now shifts to his club duties, though his international future remains uncertain following the incident.
The 41-year-old forward left Portugal's camp after Jesus's press conference last Wednesday, where the coach appeared to indicate Ronaldo would not start against Denmark in the Nations League. This followed Ronaldo being left on the bench for the entirety of Portugal's 2-1 victory over Norway the previous weekend.
Piers Morgan, a broadcaster who previously conducted an explosive interview with Ronaldo, claimed that the dispute stemmed from broken promises by Jesus. Morgan characterized Jesus as the 'Ten Hag of international football,' suggesting the coach attempted to 'belittle and embarrass Ronaldo.' According to Morgan, Ronaldo had been given assurances about his playing time, with an initial agreement that he would play the first two Nations League games and be rested for the next two. However, Ronaldo was substituted after 67 minutes in the first match, and then warmed up for 30 minutes in the second but did not enter the game.
Morgan stated that for Ronaldo, the issue was a matter of respect, citing the experience of being promised one thing and then seeing the opposite occur. He asserted that Ronaldo eventually left the camp in response to this perceived lack of respect.
Despite the controversy, Portugal won all four of their Nations League matches during the international break. Jesus has indicated that Ronaldo is welcome to return to the national team in the future, stating that the situation was a 'misunderstanding' and is 'easy to resolve.' He added that it is up to Ronaldo to decide his future and that he would be considered for the next squad if he is playing for Al-Nassr and wishes to be included.
Ronaldo himself announced his departure from the camp, stating, 'In due time, I will tell all Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that led to my departure from the national team.' He added that he had always dedicated himself to the national team and wished his teammates good luck.
Jesus has described the situation as a 'misunderstanding,' noting that any player warming up for an extended period and not being used would be unhappy. He maintained that the incident had not divided the team.
Rio Ferdinand, a former teammate of Ronaldo's at Manchester United, suggested that Jesus should apologize to Ronaldo. Ferdinand expressed belief that there was a communication breakdown, stating that the Portuguese Football Federation might be 'panicking' behind the scenes to resolve the situation. He argued that such an incident would likely not have occurred if communication had been better.
The international break had begun with Jesus and Ronaldo appearing together at a press conference, where Jesus referred to Ronaldo as a 'symbol of Portugal.' Ronaldo had previously mentioned considering retirement from international football but decided to continue, stating he would leave if the national team no longer required him.
