Cristiano Ronaldo Leaves Portugal Camp, Promises to Reveal Truth Behind Exit

Cristiano Ronaldo has departed Portugal's national team training camp, stating he will reveal the truth behind his exit amid speculation of a rift with head coach Jorge Jesus. The decision to leave came after a conversation with the president of the Portuguese Football Federation.

Ronaldo did not play in Portugal's 2-1 victory over Norway on Sunday in the UEFA Nations League and has not trained with the team since. Video shared by Portuguese media showed Ronaldo leaving the stadium on Wednesday, accompanied by members of the Portugal staff.

"In due course, I will tell all the Portuguese people the truth about the reasons that led me to leave the national team, to which I always dedicated myself," Ronaldo wrote on Instagram. "Now is the time to wish Portugal and all my teammates good luck, without exception."

Coach Jorge Jesus had stated prior to Ronaldo's departure announcement that the player would not start in the upcoming match against Denmark on Thursday and denied any issues between them. "It seems like there was an issue between us, but there was no issue," Jesus said. "I’m the one who makes the decisions and everybody knows that."

Jesus acknowledged that he had made a mistake in allowing Ronaldo to warm up during the match against Norway, having initially told the player he would be participating. However, the coach asserted his authority, stating, "I can promise whatever I want, I’m the coach. No player will ever make a decision for me."

Ronaldo had started in Portugal's previous 1-0 win against Wales.
