Cristiano Ronaldo, one of soccer's most decorated athletes, has indicated that his current season with Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr will likely be his final year playing professionally. The 41-year-old forward shared this sentiment in an interview with Vogue.

Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr in 2023 and has since scored 102 goals in 107 matches. The upcoming season for the club is set to begin on Tuesday, and if it is indeed his last, his final professional match could be on May 28, 2027.

After a career spanning 25 years, Ronaldo expressed a desire to focus on life beyond the pitch. "I have my future all mapped out," he told Vogue. "I have so many things to keep me busy that to tell you just one thing is hard. Because football could leave a big hole, you have to fill your time in various ways, not just one."

He also mentioned wanting to "leave a spectacular legacy" and plans to spend more time with his family, travel, and play padel, a sport he enjoys. Ronaldo recently married his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez.

During his illustrious career, Ronaldo has won the Ballon d’Or award five times and has been nominated for it a record 18 times. He also completed his sixth World Cup with the Portuguese national team, which concluded with a Round of 16 exit against Spain in the 2022 tournament. He finished his World Cup career with 11 goals in 27 appearances and a total of 146 goals in 233 international games for Portugal.
