Corey Pavin's Wife Returns to Hospital for Cancer Treatment

Former U.S. Open golf champion Corey Pavin has shared that his wife, Lisa, has returned to the hospital for cancer treatment. In an Instagram post, Pavin revealed that Lisa's cancer "never went away completely" and she is now undergoing CAR-T infusion therapy.

Pavin, who won the 1995 U.S. Open, had previously announced in February that Lisa had finished her chemotherapy. However, the couple learned a couple of months ago that the cancer had not been fully eradicated. Lisa began her CAR-T infusion treatment on Tuesday at the Mayo Clinic.

CAR T-cell therapy is a type of immunotherapy that engineers a patient's own immune cells to fight cancer. While Pavin has not disclosed the specific type of cancer his wife is battling, he expressed hope for the treatment's success, stating, "We are hoping and praying that this will kick her cancer's a**!"

Pavin, 66, praised his wife's resilience, acknowledging the immense emotional and physical toll of fighting cancer. "I'm so proud of Lisa's courage, attitude and perseverance!" he wrote, also extending gratitude to friends for their prayers and support.

Pavin and Lisa, 52, married in 2003 and share an 18-year-old daughter, Alexis. The couple recently helped Alexis move into college in California. Pavin shared a post celebrating his daughter's first day of college, expressing how much they would miss her.

Despite his wife's ongoing health battle, Pavin has continued to compete in professional golf, recently participating in the Sanford International last month.
