Conor McGregor has vowed to return to the UFC following a knee injury that ended his comeback fight against Max Holloway just 69 seconds into the first round. The incident occurred during UFC 329 in Las Vegas on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

McGregor reportedly suffered the injury during an aggressive start, slipping on attempted kicks. He attempted to continue but was forced to concede after grabbing his right leg again. Referee Mike Beltran stopped the fight.

Following the bout, McGregor posted on Instagram, stating, "We'll be back." He later shared a more emotional message on X, describing his current state as "hell" and asserting that the injury was unexpected and occurred during the fight itself.

UFC president Dana White indicated he suspects McGregor suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament. "I assumed he blew his ACL," White stated.

This marks another significant injury setback for McGregor, whose last bout prior to UFC 329 was in July 2021, where he lost to Dustin Poirier due to a severe leg injury. His win record has been limited since 2020, with only one victory in that span.
