Conor McGregor exited the T-Mobile Arena barefoot and with a noticeable limp following a brief and disappointing return to the octagon at UFC 329 on Saturday. The Irish fighter sustained an apparent knee injury during his first attempted kick against Max Holloway, which led to the fight being stopped after just 69 seconds.

McGregor, 37, appeared to injure his left leg attempting a high kick early in the first round. After slipping on the canvas, he attempted the same kick again, only to slip once more. This sequence allowed Holloway to land strikes, and the fight was quickly called.

Following the stoppage, McGregor declined an interview with Paramount Plus. He was seen exiting the arena with people shouting for a path to be cleared for him. Holloway, in a post-fight interview, stated that McGregor had told him to continue fighting even after the injury occurred, a suggestion Holloway called "crazy."

Holloway noted that McGregor's demeanor changed after the second slip, indicating he knew the severity of the injury. This marked McGregor's first UFC fight since 2021, and the abrupt end led to audible boos from the crowd.
