Indianapolis Colts cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt has been suspended for the first game of the 2026 NFL season for violating the league's personal conduct policy. The suspension is a result of a September 2025 arrest in Cincinnati on charges of reckless driving.
At the time of his arrest, Taylor-Britt, 26, was a member of the Bengals. According to reports, the incident involved an alleged vehicle burnout near Paycor Stadium, the Bengals' home field. He was also found to be driving without a license.
In January, Taylor-Britt agreed to a plea deal related to the charges. While his attorney reportedly sought a sentence of community service, a judge in Hamilton County mandated five days in jail. In Ohio, reckless driving is classified as a misdemeanor, carrying a potential penalty of up to 30 days in jail.
Taylor-Britt signed a one-year contract worth $1.4 million with the Colts in March. This move reunited him with Lou Anarumo, who previously served as the Bengals' defensive coordinator from 2019 to 2024 before taking the same role with the Colts.
During his four seasons with the Bengals, Taylor-Britt, the 60th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Nebraska, recorded seven interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. He started in 40 of his 47 appearances and defended 38 passes, with a career-high 16 passes defended in 2024. That same season, he also achieved a personal best of 77 tackles. He also recorded a key interception in the Bengals' playoff victory over the Buffalo Bills during the divisional round following the 2022 regular season. The Bengals ultimately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game that year.
