Colorado High School Football Player Noah Vesich Dies Unexpectedly at 16

Noah Vesich, a freshman running back at Columbine High School in Littleton, Colorado, died unexpectedly earlier this week. He was 16 years old.

The devastating news was shared by the school's football program on social media, with the team posting, "We are absolutely devastated to learn about the passing of one of our bright student athletes, Noah Vesich. He was a shining light to all who knew him. We are praying for his family and friends during this difficult time. #21 #Rebelball26."

An official cause of death has not yet been released. Vesich, who wore jersey number 21 for the Rebels, is remembered by his family as someone who "loved family, fishing and football, along with camping and exploring Colorado."

Following the tragedy, a GoFundMe page was established to help Vesich's family with mounting medical and funeral expenses. The fundraising page noted that the family is facing the cost of an autopsy and funeral during their grief, adding, "In the middle of grieving this loss, these expenses have become an added burden on the family." The campaign aims to "cover the immediate autopsy and funeral expenses for Noah Vesich and to ease some of the stress Noah's family is carrying right now."

The local community has shown strong support for the family, with donations from coaches, rival football programs, and residents quickly surpassing $32,000. Students and fans honored Vesich during Friday night's varsity road game against Chatfield High School, wearing white attire to commemorate him. The football team also added a special No. 21 decal to their equipment in his memory.
