A fan celebrating Colombia's World Cup victory over Ghana experienced a dramatic fall after going topless and leaning out of a moving car. The incident occurred amidst widespread celebrations following Colombia's 1-0 win in the round of 32.
Video footage captured the fan removing her top and raising her arms in exhilaration as the vehicle navigated slow-moving traffic. She then lost her balance and fell from the passenger side window, landing on the ground where she remained motionless for several seconds. Another passenger and a bystander rushed to her aid.
Local reports indicate the fan was taken to a nearby clinic and treated for minor cuts and a concussion. She was kept under observation overnight and discharged the following morning.
The driver of the car was reportedly fined by local police in Quindio for allowing a passenger to ride outside the vehicle. Colombia secured its victory with a goal from Jhon Arias. The team's performance was noted for its discipline, high pass completion rate, and strong defense, which prevented Ghana from recording any shots on target.
This win marked Colombia's third advancement to the Round of 16 in its World Cup history. The team was scheduled to face Switzerland in Vancouver.
