Milwaukee Brewers captain Christian Yelich paid tribute to the team's late radio broadcaster Bob Uecker following their historic first World Series championship. Uecker, a beloved Brewers legend, served as the team's radio announcer for 54 seasons, from 1971 until his passing in January 2025 at the age of 90.

"He's smiling, man. I really wish he could have been here to see this," Yelich said. "It would have meant everything to him, but like we said a bunch, he's been with us a lot. We keep him close to our hearts."

Yelich also added, "This one's still for Bob, still for Ueck. Uecky, I love you, man, and we did it."

Brewers manager Pat Murphy also referenced Uecker in his postgame address to the team. "So Ueck sent me a text today," Murphy told the clubhouse, eliciting laughter. He recounted Uecker's jest about his past playing days as a catcher, joking about his assistance against teams like the Padres and Dodgers, before Murphy's team had to win on their own.

Murphy reminded the players, "But you did it for the city, you did it for the state, and you boys ought to be awfully proud to know that you're the first ever Milwaukee Brewer team to be World Champions."

Following Murphy’s speech, the team erupted in celebration, popping champagne bottles in a scene that, despite the jubilation, was missing its most iconic voice.
