Federico Chiesa, the Italian forward for Liverpool, has stated that he is currently happy at the club and focused on his opportunities there, despite ongoing speculation about his future. Chiesa joined Liverpool in 2024 from Juventus and is under contract until 2028.

Over two seasons with the club, under former manager Arne Slot, Chiesa made 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring five goals. He started only one Premier League match during this period. In June, he expressed to La Gazzetta dello Sport that if he did not find consistency in the Premier League, he would consider other options.

Following his goal in Liverpool's first friendly of the new era under manager Andoni Iraola, Chiesa told reporters that he is currently happy at Liverpool and loves the club and its fans. "I am doing the best I can to have a chance here - and then we will see," he said. "At the minute, the only thing I am thinking about is Liverpool."

Regarding the change in management with Iraola's appointment in June after Slot's dismissal, Chiesa acknowledged it as a potential fresh start. "It is always a fresh start at the beginning of the year," he commented. "Maybe there have been too many fresh starts. But I don't care, I am trying to do my best for this new manager. Last season under Arne Slot, I was trying to do my best too."

Chiesa also reflected on his role last season, stating, "Last year, I felt ready for a bigger role, then it depended on the coach whether he wanted me to play or not. Of course I wanted to play more but it is what it is. The gaffer decided to do so, he had his gameplans, he took his decisions, I have nothing to say about that. It is football."

He concluded by describing the current season as a "new chapter" under a new manager, to which he needs to focus. Liverpool defeated Sunderland 4-2 in their first friendly match under Iraola.
