The Chicago Bears have signed running back D'Andre Swift to a three-year contract extension worth $33.75 million, ESPN reported Friday. The agreement includes $27.5 million in guaranteed money and an average annual value of $11.25 million, placing him among the league's top-paid running backs.

Swift was entering the final year of his previous three-year, $24 million contract with the Bears. In the 2025 season, he recorded career highs across the board, rushing for 1,087 yards and nine touchdowns on 4.9 yards per carry over 16 games. He also contributed 34 receptions for 299 yards and one touchdown.

His performance last season formed a potent backfield duo with second-year player Kyle Monangai, who had 783 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 4.6 yards per carry in his rookie campaign. The Bears' offense ranked third in the NFL in rushing yards per game last season with 144.5.

Since joining the Bears from 2024-25, Swift has averaged 1,023 receiving yards and 7.5 rushing touchdowns per season, along with 342.5 receiving yards per season.

The 27-year-old Swift began his NFL career with the Detroit Lions, who drafted him 35th overall in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons with Detroit before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2023 season. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2023.

The Bears are scheduled to open their 2026 regular season on the road against the Carolina Panthers.
