WWE wrestler Chelsea Green has sustained a broken orbital bone, adding to a series of recent health setbacks. The injury occurred during a tag team match on Friday, just days after Green won the interim WWE Women's Championship at SummerSlam.
Green disclosed the injury in a video posted to her Instagram, stating she had to go to the emergency room. "I did get injured last night. Stuff happens. It's live television. It's wrestling. It's an occupational hazard," Green said. "I ended up in the emergency room and I have a broken orbital bone. It looks amazing all things considered. It feels awful but looks pretty amazing."
This latest injury follows a recent heart issue that required Green to undergo a procedure. Despite these challenges, she managed to secure the interim championship in a ladder match against four other competitors at SummerSlam.
Green expressed her frustration over the continuous string of bad luck. "I have no idea what that means for me. Usually, you guys have seen me play into every single injury but this feels different, obviously. This feels very different. It feels frustrating. I'm upset. I feel like if I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all," she stated. She indicated a need to process and heal from the head trauma, taking things "day by day."
It remains unclear if Green will be required to relinquish the interim championship due to her injury. The interim belt was introduced because WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley is currently sidelined following knee surgery.
