Darts player Cameron Menzies was helped off stage and withdrew from the World Matchplay tournament on Tuesday after suffering a health scare during his second-round match against Ross Smith.

Menzies appeared to sway and look faint on stage while leading Smith in their clash. He was observed speaking with a tournament official and bending over before Smith assisted him off the stage.

"We are having a break in our first match because Cameron Menzies is unwell," presenter Emma Paton told Sky Sports viewers. "All we know at the moment is that he is being seen to by St John's Ambulance."

The Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) later confirmed Menzies' withdrawal due to illness. "Cameron Menzies is unable to continue his Round Two clash after being taken unwell," a PDC statement read. "Ross Smith progresses to the Quarter-Finals as a result."

Paton provided an update to viewers, stating that Menzies was still being assessed but was conscious, sat up, and speaking to his partner.

Three-time BDO world champion Glen Durrant expressed his concern, saying, "I echo the thoughts of everybody; right now, it's all about Cameron Menzies. He's in tip top form at the moment. It's a real tough one to take." Menzies' opponent, Ross Smith, advanced to the Quarter-Finals automatically. Menzies was leading the match when the incident occurred.
