Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink was helped off the court Thursday night during the team's 85-81 loss to the New York Liberty, following a collision with Liberty forward Breanna Stewart. The incident occurred midway through the fourth quarter with the Liberty leading 69-62 when Stewart's arm made contact with Brink's midsection.

Brink collapsed to the floor, appearing to be in pain, and remained on the court for several minutes. Stewart was assessed an offensive foul, and Brink did not return for the remainder of the game. She finished with nine points, seven rebounds, and three blocks in 19 minutes played.

This is the latest in a series of injuries for Brink. In June, she sprained her ankle, which sidelined her for a month. Her rookie season was impacted by an ACL tear in 2024, which required season-ending surgery and potentially contributed to a less productive 2025 season. In 2025, she averaged approximately five points and four rebounds per game while playing 13 minutes per contest.

The Sparks, who are 12-21 on the season and seven games out of a playoff spot with just over a month left in the regular season, cannot afford another long-term injury to Brink, whom they selected as a franchise cornerstone. The team's next game is Sunday against the Atlanta Dream.
