Caitlin Clark has been selected as the official cover star for the Deluxe Edition of NBA 2K27, marking a significant milestone as the first WNBA player to be featured on a solo global premium cover for the popular video game series. The announcement highlights an expansion of WNBA representation within the NBA 2K franchise.

Clark, the 2024 Rookie of the Year and a three-time WNBA All-Star, expressed her pride in the honor, noting the game's global reach. "To be the first WNBA player on her own global cover means women's basketball gets to show up on that stage too, and I am proud to be part of that," she stated.

While other WNBA stars like Candace Parker, Sabrina Ionescu, A'ja Wilson, and Angel Reese have previously appeared on WNBA Editions of NBA 2K games, Clark's inclusion marks a new level of solo representation. NBA 2K27 will feature a trio of cover stars: San Antonio Spurs center Victor Wembanyama on the Standard Edition and Chicago Bulls legend Derrick Rose on the limited-time Ultra Edition. Rose's appearance marks his return to the cover for the first time since NBA 2K13.

"Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose each come from different worlds, but they share the same obsession that has altered the trajectory of the game," said Zak Armitage, SVP & GM of NBA 2K. "Clark is pulling up from the logo, not just redefining what range looks like, but the women's game entirely."

NBA 2K27 is scheduled for a global release on September 4. Purchasers of the Deluxe Edition featuring Clark or the Ultra Edition with Rose will gain early access starting August 28.

In other news, Clark will not participate in this season's WNBA 3-Point Contest during All-Star Weekend, despite her notable shooting range. She was not among the six participants announced for the event, which will also be without reigning champion Sabrina Ionescu.
