Great Britain's Max Burgin and Ben Pattison both advanced to the 800-meter final at the European Athletics Championships. Burgin and Pattison finished first and second, respectively, in their semi-final heats to secure their progression.
Ireland's Mark English also qualified for the final. His performance in the semi-final broke the existing European Athletics Championship record time for the event.
The semi-final races took place on the third day of the championships.
