Cleveland is coming off a 34-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, a game where Watson's performance was heavily influenced by late-game statistics. Through the first three quarters of that contest, Watson completed 11 passes for 100 yards and threw an interception, as the Browns fell significantly behind. Many of his 205 passing yards, including a 46-yard touchdown, were accumulated against the Jaguars' backups during garbage time.

Despite the poor Week 1 showing, the Browns are expected to continue starting Watson, with speculation that the team's $230 million investment in the quarterback may be a factor. If Watson delivers another subpar performance, it could lead to him being benched, especially upon returning to Cleveland where fan frustration is already evident.

The Buccaneers also enter Week 2 with an 0-1 record, but their Week 1 loss was a 33-27 defeat to the Cincinnati Bengals, a game in which they committed four turnovers. Quarterback Baker Mayfield was responsible for three lost fumbles, which directly resulted in 24 points for the Bengals. Despite these giveaways, Tampa Bay managed to stay within one score of Cincinnati.

While Mayfield has a history of turnovers, analysts suggest that repeating last week's level of sloppiness would be an anomaly. Against a Browns offense that struggled before garbage time, the Buccaneers are anticipated to have sufficient margin for error to cover the spread.
