Bruno Fernandes' Home Burgled While Manchester United Player Was in Italy

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes had his home burgled on Wednesday while he was in Italy for his club's Champions League match. It is understood that Fernandes' family was not at the residence in Cheshire when it was broken into.

Intruders were reportedly inside the property for less than five minutes before police arrived on the scene. Manchester United is providing support to the 32-year-old midfielder following the break-in. Cheshire Police have been contacted regarding the incident.

Fernandes is the latest in a series of high-profile footballers to experience burglaries at their homes while away with their teams. Manchester City player Ruben Dias and former girlfriend Maya Jama also had their Cheshire home burgled in similar circumstances in January, while Dias was attending his club's Champions League game.

Other footballers who have previously been victims of burglaries in the same Cheshire area include Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling, and Riyad Mahrez. Fernandes joined Manchester United from Sporting in January 2020.
