LPGA Tour star Brooke Henderson is engaged to minor league baseball player Ricky Castro, the couple announced Sunday on Instagram. Castro, a pitcher for the Triple-A St. Paul Saints, shared the news, writing, “God is so good for giving us each other!”

The announcement came two days after Henderson, a native of Ontario, Canada, finished second at the Amundi Evian Championship in France. This marked her second top-three finish in a major championship within the last three weeks, having also tied for third at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship in late June. During the Amundi Evian Championship, Henderson set an LPGA major championship record with six eagles.

Henderson turned professional in 2014 and has secured 20 professional wins, including 14 on the LPGA Tour. Her major victories include the 2016 LPGA Championship and the 2022 Evian Championship. She is recognized as the winningest player in Canadian golf history.

Castro signed with the Minnesota Twins organization in 2024 after playing collegiately for Purdue and Tulane. This season, he has posted a 2-1 record with a 4.13 earned run average for the Saints, the Twins' Triple-A affiliate.

The couple began dating in March 2025 after meeting in Naples, Florida, where Henderson owns a home. Henderson has previously noted Castro's understanding of her demanding travel schedule as a key element in their relationship. "He's traveling a lot, I'm traveling a lot, so he really understands the lifestyle and all that it takes to perform at your best. So he's very understanding that way, which I think is really key in a relationship out here," Henderson told “Golfweek” last August.

Henderson is scheduled to compete in the AIG Women’s British Open, the final major of the LPGA season, which begins next week.
