Los Angeles Lakers coach JJ Redick confirmed that Bronny James and Dalton Knecht were excused from Monday's practice, as the team navigates a roster crunch ahead of the NBA's deadline. The Lakers must trim their roster from 16 players on standard NBA deals to the league maximum of 15 by 2 p.m. on Monday.
Redick cited that a couple of players were "under the weather" before specifically mentioning that James and Knecht were excused from the session. Decisions regarding the final roster had not been made as of the post-practice media availability.
