Broncos and Seahawks Set for Rare Color vs. Color Uniform Showdown

Thursday night's Week 6 game between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks in Denver will feature a rare NFL uniform spectacle: a color vs. color matchup. Both teams are scheduled to wear their throwback uniforms, meaning neither will don white jerseys, a common sight in league games.

Denver will sport its "Orange Crush" throwbacks, a retro look the team has worn five times previously in the current season, all resulting in victories. The Seahawks will counter with their royal blue uniforms and silver helmets, a design paying homage to their 1990s era. Seattle wore this same throwback in three regular-season games last season.

The last time two teams met while wearing colored jerseys was in Week 15 of the 2025 season, when the Atlanta Falcons wore black and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers donned their "Creamsicle" uniforms. This upcoming Broncos-Seahawks contest marks only the fourth such color-versus-color matchup since 2021 that does not involve a Color Rush uniform.

The NFL embraced color vs. color uniform games during the 2015-2018 Color Rush period. While the Seahawks' royal blue throwbacks will be featured again in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs, that game will not be another color-on-color event, as Kansas City is scheduled to wear white.

Denver enters the matchup with a 3-2 record after defeating the Los Angeles Chargers 23-17 in Week 5. The Seahawks are coming off a 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in their last outing.
