Brick Savage Sets Sights on MLW World Championship

Major League Wrestling star Brick Savage has declared his intentions to capture the MLW World Heavyweight Championship, currently held by Killer Kross. Savage, who has aligned himself with the faction Contra Unit, stated his goal is to bring championship gold back to the group.

Savage, described as a "6-foot-2, 340-pound behemoth," has made an impact in MLW, securing victories over wrestlers such as Trevor Lee, Matt Riddle, and Flip Sequoyah. He views Contra Unit as a collection of "dangerous people" whose shared background and camaraderie make them a formidable force.

"The main guy at the top of my list is going to be the heavyweight champion, Killer Kross," Savage said in an interview. "There’s other guys along the way that I'm sure I'll get my hands on, but the main goal, the main prize is to carry the gold and the top honor at MLW, to take the heavyweight championship. That has to belong to Contra at some point."

Killer Kross won the Battle Riot match at Battle Riot VIII earlier this year and has held the championship since then. Savage expressed his desire to reintroduce a palpable sense of fear and danger into professional wrestling, a quality he feels has been diminished in the sport. "When I walk out the curtain, I want them to feel that oh s--- moment that this is about to get serious and ‘I need to be on my guard, my toes to pay attention about what's about to happen because who knows, I could be next,’" he explained. "That's the feeling I want to introduce to people and what's coming up."

MLW recently announced that its weekly series, "Fusion," would be available on Tubi. Savage expressed enthusiasm for this development, highlighting the accessibility it provides for fans to watch his matches. "It’s incredible to be honest," Savage said regarding the MLW roster and the Tubi deal. "Man, to already be part of the MLW roster and be part of Contra is already amazing, and then getting a Tubi deal to air free on Thursdays is absolutely insane. They're moving so fast at connecting all these pieces, it's actually incredible."
