Brewers' World Series Celebration Continues at Lambeau Field
The newly crowned champions brought the Commissioner's Trophy to a Green Bay Packers game, with players attempting the iconic Lambeau Leap.
The Milwaukee Brewers continued their World Series celebration less than 24 hours after clinching their first franchise title by bringing the Commissioner's Trophy to Lambeau Field. Pitcher Brandon Woodruff, accompanied by teammates Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick, presented the trophy on the field during the Green Bay Packers' game against the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night.
Sal Frelick embraced the festive atmosphere by attempting a Lambeau Leap, drawing a positive reaction from the crowd. The Brewers secured their historic World Series victory in Game 5 against the Tampa Bay Rays.
Milwaukee is preparing for a large-scale victory parade scheduled for Friday, which is expected to draw thousands of fans. The city's school district, Milwaukee Public Schools, announced a closure for the day, citing operational and safety concerns, while also providing an opportunity for students and faculty to attend the parade.
The Brewers' championship, along with the Milwaukee Bucks' 2021 NBA Finals victory, means the Green Bay Packers now hold the longest championship drought among Wisconsin's major professional men's sports teams. The Packers last won a Super Bowl in the 2010 season.
The Packers game saw the team take a 20-10 lead by halftime against the Panthers, extending their advantage to 27-10 in the third quarter.
