Brewers Push Dodgers to Brink of Elimination With Game 3 Victory

The Milwaukee Brewers moved within one victory of advancing in the National League Championship Series by defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 in Game 3. The win on Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium gave the Brewers a 3-0 series advantage, placing the Dodgers on the brink of elimination.

Jackson Chourio ignited the Brewers' offense by hitting the first pitch from Dodgers starter Blake Snell for a leadoff home run. Pitcher Robert Gasser then held the lead for the Brewers, throwing five shutout innings. Milwaukee extended its lead in the seventh inning when Jake Bauers hit a go-ahead, two-run homer after Snell issued a walk. Garrett Mitchell followed by hitting the next pitch over the wall, chasing Snell from the game and making the score 4-2.

A wild pitch and an RBI single by Joey Ortiz in the ninth inning added to Milwaukee's lead. The Brewers' bullpen, with 3.2 scoreless innings from DL Hall and Trevor Megill, secured the victory.

The Dodgers, in the first postseason featuring Shohei Ohtani, have struggled offensively. Manager Dave Roberts acknowledged the team's position, stating, "You just gotta win tomorrow. We've just got to get a win and find a way to build some momentum."

The Brewers, who arrived in Los Angeles with confidence, now have an opportunity to complete the sweep in Game 4.
