Brewers Pitcher Jacob Misiorowski Eyed for Historic World Series Game 5 Performance
With the Rays' bullpen depleted, Milwaukee's ace Jacob Misiorowski is poised for a dominant outing in a potential series-clinching game.
The Milwaukee Brewers are set to send their ace, Jacob Misiorowski, to the mound for Game 5 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. This decision comes after the Rays forced a Game 5 with a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory in Game 4, which saw them utilize seven pitchers.
Misciorowski has established himself as a strikeout artist, averaging nearly 13 strikeouts per nine innings during the 2026 regular season. He recorded at least 10 strikeouts in 10 of his 30 starts. In Game 1 of the series, he limited the Rays to one run over five innings, despite striking out only three batters. However, the potential for a longer outing in Game 5, with the Brewers also having managed their bullpen extensively, could allow Misiorowski to replicate his regular-season dominance.
The Rays' offensive approach against Misiorowski in Game 1, where they struck out infrequently but struggled to generate runs, suggests they may face a similar challenge if he is at his best. With the possibility of Jackson Chourio, a strong candidate for World Series MVP, having a quieter game, Misiorowski could emerge as a pivotal figure. A historic performance in a potential series-clinching game could put him in contention for the award.
