Brewers on Verge of First World Series Title

The Milwaukee Brewers stand one victory away from securing their first World Series title in franchise history. They have an opportunity to clinch the championship in Game 4 against the Tampa Bay Rays tonight, Oct. 27, at 8 p.m. ET.

Last night, the Brewers dominated the Rays with an 8-run inning contributing to a decisive 10-1 victory, putting them up 3-0 in the series. This win followed their earlier victories in Game 1 (3-2) and Game 2 (5-4).

Milwaukee's statistical advantage is significant. In best-of-seven postseason series, teams leading 3-0 have gone on to win 42 out of 43 times. The Brewers recently swept the Dodgers in the NLCS, marking one of those instances. If they win the World Series, they would become the first team in Major League Baseball history to sweep both a seven-game LCS and the World Series in the same year. They also have the chance to break a tie for the most consecutive postseason wins, currently at eight, by achieving a ninth.

Fans can watch Game 4 for free through DIRECTV, which is offering a five-day free trial. The game will be broadcast on FOX.

Starting pitchers for tonight's game include Griffin Jax (8-10, 3.53 ERA) for the Rays. The Brewers have not officially announced a starter, with potential candidates including Dustin May, Kyle Harrison, and Shane Drohan, following Brandon Woodruff's appearance in last night's ninth inning.

The World Series schedule is as follows: Game 1: Brewers 3, Rays 2 Game 2: Brewers 5, Rays 4 Game 3: Brewers 10, Rays 1 Game 4: Oct. 27, 8 p.m. ET (FOX) Game 5: Oct. 28, 8 p.m. ET (FOX)* Game 6: Oct. 30, 8 p.m. ET (FOX)* Game 7: Oct. 31, 8 p.m. ET (FOX)* *if necessary
