Brewers Manager Pat Murphy Predicts Seven-Game Series Against Dodgers

Milwaukee Brewers manager Pat Murphy has thrown down a gauntlet to the Los Angeles Dodgers, predicting his team will prevail in a seven-game National League Championship Series. The Brewers are set to face the Dodgers in a rematch of last season's NLCS.

"We’re going to do our best to stay with them and beat them in 7 games," Murphy stated after the Brewers' win over the Padres in the NLDS. He added, "We’re gonna be more ready than we were last time, I believe. That doesn’t guarantee anything but we got to be ready for what they say is the best team in baseball, but we think we are."

Last season, the Dodgers swept the Brewers en route to a World Series title. However, Murphy believes his team has evolved.

"This year, the Brewers have largely been unstoppable with a roaring offense and NL Cy Young candidate Jacob Misiorowski," the report states. "In the same way, the Dodgers have also looking sharp with a 100-win season and a lights-out rotation full of aces."

The Brewers boast the best record in baseball, while the Dodgers bring the experience of back-to-back World Series championships.

The upcoming series is anticipated to be a challenging contest for both clubs. "It’s a matchup poised for great baseball as the small-market Brewers take on the sport’s juggernaut," according to the notes. "And the Dodgers have shown that spending money doesn’t guarantee a championship unless a team has all the right pieces."

Merrill Kelly and the Arizona Diamondbacks are also advancing in the postseason, having defeated the Philadelphia Phillies in their NLDS series. The Diamondbacks are expected to face the winner of the Dodgers-Brewers series in the NLCS.
