The Milwaukee Brewers and Cleveland Guardians completed a four-player transaction on Saturday morning, adding depth to both rosters as Major League Baseball's trade deadline approaches. The deal involved catcher Bo Naylor and reliever Codi Heuer going to Milwaukee, with outfielder Blake Perkins and pitcher Craig Yoho heading to Cleveland.

Naylor, 26, joins the Brewers, who already have William Contreras and Gary Sanchez at catcher. This season, Naylor has appeared in 28 games, batting .143 with a .200 on-base percentage and a .380 slugging percentage. His brother, Josh Naylor, is a star for the San Diego Padres.

Heuer, a 30-year-old reliever, has made eight appearances for the Guardians this year, posting a 3.76 career earned run average across 97 games since his 2020 debut. This will mark his sixth MLB team if he makes the Brewers' roster.

Perkins, 27, will join the Guardians' Triple-A affiliate. He has a career batting average of .223 with a .636 OPS. In 55 games this season, he has struggled, hitting .157 with a .258 slugging percentage.

Yoho, a 25-year-old right-handed pitcher, has appeared in 20 innings for the Brewers this season with a 3.15 ERA. As he is in his second year, he has significant team control.

The trade is considered a minor move as teams anticipate larger transactions before the Monday 6 p.m. ET deadline. The Brewers are reportedly among the teams interested in acquiring Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal, though the Los Angeles Dodgers are considered the frontrunners for his services.
