Brewers Achieve Commanding World Series Lead as Fans Transform Opponent's Stadium
Milwaukee supporters created a home-field atmosphere at Tropicana Field during Game 3 victory, which saw the Brewers take a 3-0 series advantage.
The Milwaukee Brewers established a significant 3-0 lead in the World Series following a decisive win over the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field on Monday. The Brewers' victory was amplified by the presence of their fervent fanbase, which made the stadium feel like an extension of Milwaukee.
MLB on FOX host Kevin Burkhardt remarked on the unusual number of Brewers supporters, stating he had "never seen anything like this in my life." Derek Jeter echoed this sentiment, expressing surprise at the scale of the Brewers' crowd. Alex Rodriguez summarized the situation, calling it a "Milwaukee Brewer takeover."
The Brewers secured a 10-1 win in Game 3, highlighted by an eight-run fifth inning that included seven consecutive two-out hits, setting a World Series record. Jackson Chourio contributed significantly to the offensive surge with four hits. Following the game, Chourio received a "My Dawg!" shirt from three-time World Series champion David Ortiz for his performance.
Speaking through a translator, Chourio acknowledged the fans' support, saying, "I think all of these fans deserve a championship as well. So I hope that we’re able to accomplish this for them."
When asked about preparing for a potential series-clinching game, Chourio indicated that the team has been focused on reaching this point. "It’s special for sure, but we’ve been preparing for this day," he said. "Knowing that it’s coming, so we have one more to lock in for tomorrow to complete the mission."
Milwaukee is now one victory away from securing the franchise's first World Series title. Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday evening at Tropicana Field.
