Cincinnati Bengals practice was disrupted on Wednesday by a significant brawl, with star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase at the center of the confrontation. The incident occurred during the team's first training camp practice.

Video footage showed Chase engaging with several members of the Bengals defense, including players like DJ Turner II and Jalen Davis. The exact cause of the altercation remains unclear, but Chase, a highly regarded receiver, was quickly surrounded by defensive players. Coaches intervened, blowing whistles in an attempt to de-escalate the situation.

During the scuffle, Chase was seen holding Jalen Davis' helmet. According to WLWT reporter Jaron May, Chase then threw the helmet. This action further intensified the situation, leading to other players becoming involved and exchanging words with Chase.

Quarterback Joe Burrow commented on the incident after practice, stating, "Those two are two of the best in the league and they're going to be going at it every day. Whatever those guys need to get excited to get better, go ahead and do it."

The practice was also marked by an injury to defensive end Shemar Stewart, who was carted off the field with an apparent left leg injury. Stewart, a first-round pick in 2025, was looking to solidify his position on the depth chart after an inconsistent rookie season. He missed some offseason activities due to contract negotiations and a late start to his training camp last year, which contributed to a challenging rookie campaign that was further hampered by an injury in Week 2.

The Bengals added depth to their defensive end position in the offseason, acquiring free agent Boye Mafe and selecting Cashius Howell in the second round. Myles Murphy, a 2023 first-round selection, is also expected to be a starter.
