During a between-innings race at Truist Park, an Atlanta Braves fan attempted to taunt "The Freeze" by blowing him a kiss. The fan, who had been given a significant head start along the warning track, initially appeared to be gaining ground before accelerating.
However, The Freeze quickly closed the gap. As the fan realized he was being overtaken, he attempted to increase his speed. It proved to be too late, as The Freeze not only caught up but also blew a kiss back at the fan as he sped past.
The Freeze then slowed down to cross the finish line. These races are a regular feature during Braves games, where a fan is given a head start against The Freeze, who almost always wins.
The on-field antics come as the Atlanta Braves themselves are working to maintain their lead in the National League East. The team currently holds a 5.5-game advantage over the Philadelphia Phillies. Previously, on May 22, the Braves had a 10.5-game lead, but experienced a slump in June before stabilizing their performance. The Braves recently defeated the Baltimore Orioles 7-6.
