San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk reignited speculation about his future with the team on July 2, launching a series of expletive-filled posts on his Instagram Story detailing his frustration and desire to join the Washington Commanders.
Aiyuk, who has been vocal about his discontent throughout the offseason, initially posted a video of himself dancing with the caption, "Mood cuz I’m gone be a Commander soon." This was followed by further messages expressing his unhappiness with his contract situation.
"I haven’t received a single cent from them in 17 months / Folks tryna hold me captive lol / Then my guarantees was voided in July of 2025 / This s– modern day ⛓️," Aiyuk wrote, referencing his contract disputes and perceived treatment by the organization. He also alleged that missed rehab sessions were not the cause of the team's issues with him.
In a subsequent video rant, Aiyuk stated, "Man, get me off this bum-ass team, man!" He also directly addressed the 49ers, claiming the team was "hiding and ducking." He challenged them, "Where’s you at? bring your ass here! Say something!"
These recent social media outbursts add to Aiyuk's ongoing public campaign to leave San Francisco. The wide receiver's consistent and often fiery pronouncements have amplified his trade demands throughout the NFL offseason.
