Braelon Allen Embraces Lead Back Role for Jets

Rookie running back Braelon Allen is stepping into a more prominent role for the New York Jets, following an injury to starter Breece Hall. Allen, a fourth-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has shown flashes of the speed, power, and physicality the team envisioned when they selected him.

"Honestly, just opportunity. I’ve always prepared the same way and had the same mindset week to week," Allen told The Post. "Now being in the lead role, knowing I’m going to get the ball consistently throughout the game has definitely helped with consistency and catching a rhythm."

Allen's increased workload came after Breece Hall sustained a quad injury. The extended opportunity has allowed Allen to demonstrate his potential over the last two weeks. The Jets are looking to see if he can maintain that level of performance as he handles lead back duties.
