Katie Boulter stated she will not follow Andy Murray's method of securing his wedding ring after he famously misplaced his. Murray, a three-time Grand Slam champion, tied his wedding band to his shoelaces before a practice session in California in 2021. He later left his trainers, with the ring attached, under a car to dry. The ring was missing the next day, and Murray eventually recovered it after issuing an appeal.

Boulter, who recently married Alex de Minaur, the world number seven from Australia, indicated she learned from Murray's experience and will not be using the same approach. "I don't wear it. Not during matches," she said.

The couple were married in a private ceremony in England before a larger celebration in Tuscany, Italy, in July. Boulter described the UK ceremony as a small gathering for close family, honoring her grandfather, while the Italian event was a larger celebration with friends.

Boulter also commented on her husband's wedding speech, expressing initial skepticism about his preparedness. "I hadn't seen him do any preparation for the speech at all. And he was like, 'I'm just going to wing it. It's fine. How hard can it be?'," she recalled. She added that de Minaur delivered an excellent speech that moved her to tears.

Following their wedding, Boulter has returned to her tennis schedule ahead of the US Open. She chose to compete in tournaments in North America to acclimate to the conditions. "I actually just chose to go straight back into the conditions, go into the deep end and see what we've got," Boulter explained. She believes the conditions in the United States differ significantly from those in the UK and that preparing in advance is crucial to avoid being underprepared.

Boulter's US Open campaign begins with a match against American wildcard Carol Young Suh Lee, who is ranked 143rd in the world.
