Toronto Blue Jays infielder Ernie Clement proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Stefanie Brejcha, this week during the team's road trip to Cleveland. The veteran player chose to add a personal milestone while the Blue Jays are in contention for a wild-card spot.

Clement proposed outside the Hyatt Regency Cleveland at The Arcade. Brejcha shared photos of the proposal on social media, expressing her surprise and joy. The images show the couple embracing, with Brejcha displaying an emerald-cut diamond engagement ring on a gold band. She also posted pictures with friends and family celebrating the engagement.

The couple, who publicly confirmed their relationship in January 2024, are believed to have met in 2022 when Clement was playing for the Guardians. Brejcha is a native of Mentor, Ohio, and attended nearby Kent State University.

Both Clement and Brejcha were recently in the spotlight at the MLB All-Star Weekend in Philadelphia in July. Clement signed with the Blue Jays on a minor league deal in 2023 and was part of the team's postseason run last year, during which he set a record with 30 hits in a single postseason.

The Blue Jays currently hold a 68-71 record and are trailing the Guardians by 2.5 games for the third and final American League wild-card spot, with the Rangers and Orioles also in contention.
