Bills Safety Sam Franklin Jr. Suspended for Spitting Incident

Buffalo Bills safety Sam Franklin Jr. has been suspended without pay for one game after spitting at an opponent during the fourth quarter of the team's recent game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The incident occurred during the Bills' 33-30 victory on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.

This suspension follows a similar one issued to his teammate, C.J. Gardner Johnson, who was also banned for one game without pay after being captured on video spitting at Raiders players during the same contest. The league's disciplinary action highlights a zero-tolerance policy for unsportsmanlike conduct on the field.

The specific incident involving Franklin Jr. reportedly took place with 1:32 remaining in the fourth quarter, following a successful extra point attempt by the Raiders. Video evidence shows Franklin Jr. appearing to be kicked in the lower body by Raiders player DJ Glaze. While Franklin Jr. confronts Glaze after the alleged foul, it remains unclear from the footage whether he spat at the opponent.

Franklin Jr. is appealing the suspension. If the appeal is unsuccessful, he will miss the Bills' upcoming AFC showdown against the Baltimore Ravens, scheduled for November 1.
