The Buffalo Bills have released wide receiver Mecole Hardman, a three-time Super Bowl champion, as the team finalized its 53-man roster ahead of Week 1.

Hardman, 28, joined the Bills last season but saw limited action, appearing in only three regular-season and playoff games. He recorded a four-yard touchdown reception from Josh Allen in the Bills' divisional-round playoff loss.

Best known for his tenure with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hardman was a second-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent six seasons across two stints with the Chiefs, winning three Super Bowls. In Kansas City, he accumulated 178 catches for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns. His most significant moment came in Super Bowl 2024, where he caught a three-yard touchdown pass in overtime to secure a 25-22 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Hardman had a brief stint with the New York Jets in 2023 before being traded back to the Chiefs seven months later. He caught one pass in five games for the Jets.

The Bills bolstered their wide receiver corps during the offseason by acquiring DJ Moore from the Chicago Bears. This move, along with the presence of Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, Joshua Palmer, and draft pick Skyler Bell, made Hardman expendable as Buffalo trimmed its roster.
