Bill Belichick's family reportedly experienced a sense of relief following his split from Jordon Hudson late last year, although concerns persist regarding her ongoing involvement in his professional life. The legendary former New England Patriots head coach, now leading the University of North Carolina football program, and Hudson, 25, ended their romantic relationship, according to TMZ.

The couple, whose 49-year age gap attracted considerable public attention, had been seen together at various events and around the UNC campus since Belichick took the college job. Despite public appearances and social media posts throughout 2026, it has since emerged that they separated towards the end of last year. However, Hudson is said to remain committed to their business partnerships, and the pair are described as remaining close friends.

Sources told Page Six that while Belichick's family is relieved about the romantic split, their concerns have not entirely dissipated. "There's definitely a sense of relief now that Bill and Jordon have split, but the family's concerns haven't completely gone away," a source stated.

These concerns reportedly stemmed less from the age difference and more from Hudson's increasing involvement in Belichick's professional endeavors. According to reports, Belichick included Hudson in professional communications, management decisions, and business dealings, which made his family uncomfortable. "They understand she's still very involved in his business affairs, but they don't really know the full extent of her involvement, how much say she has or exactly what responsibilities Bill has given her," the source added. "They're not accusing her of doing anything wrong, but there's still some uncertainty about what her role looks like now that they're no longer together."

During a recent UNC press conference, Belichick was questioned about the reports of his breakup with Hudson. He responded curtly, "Do you work for a tabloid now?" He further stated, "I'll keep my personal comments and relationships to myself if that's alright with you."

Belichick had previously addressed Hudson's role in his business affairs and the UNC program in a September interview with the Wall Street Journal. He dismissed suggestions of her being involved in all aspects of his job as a "flat-out lie" and criticized as "ridiculous" claims about her influence. "I had a lot of other things going on when I took the job," Belichick told the WSJ. "So, I sent an email when I got here and I said, 'Can you please forward any requests to Jordon about my personal appearances so that I can work and coordinate them outside the university?'. Didn't have anything to do with the university. Well, that was leaked and released as 'Jordon's involved in every single thing that I do and she's copied on every email.' That's just a flat-out lie."

He elaborated, "The way the story was picked up was a long way from that. Like, 'She's trying to be the general manager of the team.' And it's so ridiculous. There are some things that she helps me schedule or look at. It's not North Carolina stuff."
