The Chicago Bears are set to face the defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks tonight, Nov. 2, at Lumen Field in a pivotal Week 8 Monday Night Football game. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET, and the game will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC.
Both teams are aiming for a significant midseason boost. The Bears, coming off consecutive wins, hold a 5-2 record. In their last outing, a 30-24 victory over the New England Patriots, quarterback Caleb Williams passed for 308 yards and two touchdowns, while running back D'Andre Swift contributed 78 rushing yards and a touchdown. Chicago recently acquired defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, and the team has a 3-0 record in games where "the Iceman" has started and finished.
The Seahawks, currently 4-3, are on a two-game winning streak following their 20-3 defeat of the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. Quarterback Sam Darnold, along with running back Kenneth Walker III and receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, were key figures in that win. Seattle recently traded for offensive guard Quenton Nelson.
Oddsmakers have set the Seahawks as three-point favorites for the matchup. The New York Post noted that while the acquisition of Simmons could benefit the Bears, Seattle's recent strong performance against Kansas City might carry over into Monday night.
Fans can stream the game for free through DIRECTV, which is offering a five-day free trial of its MySports genre pack. This package includes ESPN and ABC and provides a $20 monthly discount for the first six months.
