The Chicago Bears have extended emerging star offensive tackle Darnell Wright on a record-breaking four-year, $116 million contract. The deal includes $93 million guaranteed, the most for an offensive lineman in NFL history, and an annual value of $29 million, second only to the Commanders' Laremy Tunsil among all offensive tackles.
Darnell Wright was selected by Bears general manager Ryan Poles in the first round of the 2023 draft and has since become a foundational player for the team. In the 2025 season, he earned an All-Pro selection after helping anchor a Bears offensive line that ranked third in rushing and top-10 overall. Wright allowed only 19 pressures and three sacks in pass protection last season, maintaining a 95.2 percent pass block win rate despite playing through a shoulder injury.
Wright expressed his commitment to the team earlier in training camp, stating he hoped to spend his entire career in Chicago. The extension aims to ensure the continued success of the Bears' offense, particularly for quarterback Caleb Williams. The team is coming off an 11-6 season in 2025, which included their first playoff victory since 2011.
