Australia Dominates Scotland in WXV Global Series Rugby Match

Australia handed Scotland a significant defeat, scoring eight tries to win their WXV Global Series encounter in Sydney. The victory marks Australia's second win in the tournament, having previously defeated Scotland, while extending the visitors' losing streak to eight matches. Scotland's recent run includes four losses in the WXV competition, following defeats against Canada, New Zealand, and Australia in earlier fixtures.

Scotland began the match with an early lead when Katie Buchanan crossed the try line in the fifth minute for her first international score. However, Australia quickly responded, securing five tries before halftime. The Wallaroos continued their dominance throughout the match, ultimately finishing with a total of 56 points to Scotland's 12.

Australia has now secured two wins in the WXV Global Series, with both victories coming against Scotland. Their earlier 30-10 win in Edinburgh had seen them surpass Scotland in the world rankings. For Scotland, the match was further complicated by the pre-game withdrawal of lock Sarah Bonar due to illness, with Hollie Cunningham stepping in to replace her in the starting lineup under caretaker head coach Dave Butcher.
