Atlanta Dream favored in Game 4 against Golden State Valkyries
The Dream hold momentum after a Game 3 victory and are expected to continue their success at home.
The Atlanta Dream have seized momentum in their WNBA Finals series against the Golden State Valkyries and are positioned as favorites heading into Game 4. After securing a victory at home in Game 3, the Dream return to State Farm Arena with a 4.5-point advantage, looking to extend their successful postseason run.
The Dream's defense was a key factor in their Game 3 win, forcing 17 turnovers and converting them into 22 points. This marks the sixth time in eight playoff games that Atlanta has scored at least 20 points off opponent miscues. The Valkyries appeared to be a step slower throughout the game, a performance that could be attributed to the lack of a rest day between Games 2 and 3.
Despite the two days off before Game 4, the Valkyries have struggled to contain Angel Reese. The Dream forward has been a dominant force in the Finals, recording her third consecutive double-double in Game 3. Reese has been active on defense, disrupting ball-handlers and intercepting passes, while on offense, she has attacked the basket with force and proven capable of hitting three-pointers when given the opportunity.
While Kiah Stokes has shown the ability to slow Reese, the Dream have focused on attacking Stokes and drawing fouls. Betting markets have set Reese's points prop at 16.5 for Game 4, a line only slightly higher than in Game 3. Reese appears motivated, and her teammates have consistently looked for her when she has a positional advantage.
