Arsenal's Max Dowman Sets Three Guinness World Records After Breakout Season

Arsenal youth sensation Max Dowman has officially been recognized with three Guinness World Records following his remarkable debut season with the club. The 16-year-old winger's rapid ascent saw him handed first-team opportunities by manager Mikel Arteta, leading to a series of historic achievements.

Dowman first made headlines in November when he became the youngest player to appear in a UEFA Champions League match, entering the game against Slavia Prague at 15 years and 308 days old. This broke the previous record held by Borussia Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko by 75 days.

His record-breaking spree continued in the Premier League. In March, Dowman became the competition's youngest-ever scorer at 16 years and 73 days when he netted in Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Everton. This feat surpassed the long-standing record previously held by James Vaughan, who was 16 years and 271 days old when he scored for Everton in 2005 – a match in which Arteta also played.

Dowman last season became the Premier League's youngest goalscorer when he scored against Everton aged 16 years and 73 days

The third record was secured at the close of the season when Dowman became the youngest player to win the Premier League title, achieving this milestone at 16 years and 144 days old.

Dowman was presented with his official Guinness World Records certificates at a ceremony at Arsenal. He also received a copy of the new Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027, featuring him as the opening player profile in its 'Class of '27' section.

"To have already achieved three Guinness World Records titles before turning 17 is extraordinary, and his story captures exactly why this generation of players is so exciting," said Tom Beckerlegge, senior editor of Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027. "Football never stands still. Records are broken, new stars emerge and every season brings fresh moments of genius that light up the game."

The 'Class of '27' also includes notable players such as Lamine Yamal, Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe.

Dowman also became the youngest player to play in the Champions League and the youngest winner of the Premier League

The Guinness World Records Football Edition 2027 is set to be released on October 8, 2026.
