Arsenal has initiated an appeal to overturn the red card issued to 16-year-old Max Dowman during their Carabao Cup match against Fleetwood on Tuesday night.
The young midfielder was sent off after retaliating to a tackle by Fleetwood's Harrison Neal. While Dowman was fortunate to avoid injury from the challenge, he subsequently kicked out at Neal.
The incident led to Dowman's dismissal, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly scolding the player as he left the pitch. The club is now working to have the suspension lifted before their upcoming fixture against Liverpool.
