Anthony Volpe has experienced a significant surge in power during his recent stint in Triple-A, prompting teammate Jasson Domínguez to liken his performance to that of Barry Bonds. Volpe has hit five home runs in his last five games and eight in his past 14 games for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.

Domínguez, who recently joined Volpe in Triple-A, described Volpe's recent hitting as "crazy," adding that "he became Barry Bonds all of a sudden, hitting a homer every day."

Volpe was demoted from the Yankees last month and replaced by George Lombard Jr. During his time in Triple-A, Volpe has been playing multiple infield positions—shortstop, second base, and third base—to increase his defensive versatility and potential opportunities to return to the major league team. His offensive resurgence stands in contrast to his performance in the majors this season, where he hit only one home run in 56 games.

"He’s working his ass off to get better, and you can see it every day, I’m telling you," Domínguez said. "I feel like the last two weeks, he’s hit a homer every day."
