Anthony Joshua Utilizes Ancient Warrior Training Machine for Tyson Fury Bout

Anthony Joshua is employing an unconventional training method, utilizing a stretching machine known as the Pravilo, as he gears up for his anticipated fight against Tyson Fury.

The bout, billed as boxing's biggest event of the year, is slated for early December at Cardiff's Principality Stadium, following a venue dispute that moved it from Madison Square Garden.

Joshua, a two-time heavyweight world champion, shared a video on Instagram showcasing his use of the Pravilo machine, a conditioning device rooted in Slavic and Russian traditions and historically used by Cossack warriors for over a millennium. The machine is designed to stretch each limb of the body.

In the video, Joshua, weighing 251.0 pounds (113.9 kg), is shown being rotated 180 degrees in a starfish position, demonstrating significant core strength. He is currently training at his gym in Dubai, having relocated from the UK earlier this year.

The fight's venue has been a point of contention. Wembley Stadium was considered, but a strict 11 p.m. curfew posed a challenge, even with the London mayor expressing a desire to accommodate the event. Boxing dealmaker Turki Al-Sheikh has reportedly insisted on a 2 a.m. start time.

Cardiff's Principality Stadium is now the frontrunner. The streaming platform Netflix has yet to formally approve the venue, though reports suggest they are amenable. A spokesperson for the Welsh Rugby Union expressed enthusiasm about hosting the fight, highlighting the stadium's suitability with its closable roof, sight lines, and central location.

Joshua has a history of success in Cardiff, having secured victories against Carlos Takam and Joseph Parker at the stadium in 2017 and 2018, respectively.
