Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards has married his longtime girlfriend Shannon Jackson in a private ceremony. The couple officially wed on July 16 in Hennepin County, Minnesota, according to official court documents.

Speculation about their relationship status intensified after fans observed Edwards wearing a black band on his ring finger during a recent appearance at Fanatics Fest in New York. The couple, who publicly confirmed their relationship in 2020, have a two-year-old daughter, Aislynn.

The wedding took place shortly after Edwards secured a legal resolution in a child support case with ex-girlfriend Ayesha Howard. A Georgia judge ruled in favor of Edwards, determining the state as the proper jurisdiction and ordering him to pay $3,222 per month in child support. Howard's request for a larger sum was rejected. Court documents indicated that Howard did not appear for the trial or present evidence to support her claims. Edwards had already voluntarily paid $110,000 in support from January 2025 until the final ruling.

Following these off-court legal matters, Edwards is set to focus on the upcoming NBA season with the Timberwolves. The team recently made a significant trade, acquiring LaMelo Ball from the Charlotte Hornets. In exchange, the Timberwolves sent Naz Reid and a collection of draft picks to Charlotte. The Hornets also acquired three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030) and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033) in the deal. The Hornets reportedly received multiple aggressive offers for Ball, with the Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers also showing interest.
